So, you know how to cast on now, I bet you're simply itching to know how to start knitting. Oh, all right then, I'll tell you.
With the needle with all the stitches on it in your left hand, take your right needle and thread it through the first stitch, so it's behind the left needle.
Wrap the wool from the ball around the right needle and pull the stitch on the left needle over onto the right. Did I explain that okay? Try YouTubing it!
It should look like this when complete.
Repeat this process and your first row should look like the above photograph.
Keep going and going and going some more and you'll get something like this! Soon you'll have a scarf on your hands!
Happy Knitting!

Thanks, Jenny. Sometimes beginners can get so overwhelmed by complicated knitting instructions, I thought I would break it down nice and simply! X
DeleteHello lovely, I hope I didn't do too much damage to your bank account with my Asos inspired browsing!! I have just had a little look around your blog and I'm so impressed, it's so lovely. I'm really in love with the idea of you teaching everyone knitting too!! My mum's best friend taught me some of the basics last year when we were having a weekly craft night, but I'm not sure I could do it now. It's funny because I have just finished reading a book that sort of revolves around a knitting shop and group, and I've just started the sequel. And since I've been reading them I've seen knitting everywhere! xx
ReplyDeleteNot too much damage way done, thank goodness! A weekly craft night sounds divine. I dream of starting my own knit and natter! That book sounds lovely! Knitting is everywhere at the moment! Trendy! ;D X
