what's in the knitting bag?: girlie bow headband

Say hello to my knitting bag. He's charmed to meet you. He'd even kiss your hand, if he had lips and could reach through your computer. He's that much of a gentleman. He is also covered in Moomins. That means he's a LAD. My brother gave me this bag. I treasure it. This is where I keep my treasured wool. You follow the treasure map that is under my pillow. The X marks the spot wherever I left this bag. True story.

Formal introductions over, lets get down to the post at hand.

As I told you in my last post, I am addicted to knitting. This is a new segment on the old blob called 'what's in the knitting bag?' I got the idea from all those videos that are extremely popular on YouTube where girls show you the contents of their handbag (un example here). Although I secretly like to see what is in people's bags, my own handbag is rather boring. All it has in it are keys, phone, purse, the occasional receipt/ticket, 3D glasses (you just don't know when you are going to organise a spontaneous cinema trip) and, if I am exceptionally organised, a hairbrush/lipgloss. That only sometimes happens. Most the time I just embrace hair that looks like a bird's nest and lips that are as dry as the Sahara. Metaphors.

The contents of my knitting bag, however, is much more exciting.

My most recent project is this girlie bow headband. It's from the Queen of Crafts book I mentioned here. It was my first ever dabble into the world of knitting AND purling stitches. Equalling 'stocking stitch'.

The finished article.

The finished article on my head. I'm rather proud of it. See? I'm smiling.
